Loop. Lock. Release. Reuse. A reusable cable and hose clamp concept exploring a compact, one-piece alternative to the disposable cable tie.

The exploration

Design intent

Retain the speed and simplicity of a cable tie while making release a deliberate part of the interaction. LOCKLOOP explores a broad flexible strap, low-profile ratchet teeth and a protected thumb-actuated pawl within one moulded component.

Further development

Ratchet security, release force, strap flexibility, fatigue resistance, material behaviour, mould flow, dimensional tolerances, environmental exposure and package performance require physical prototypes and validation. Manufacturing and performance details shown in the concept artwork remain unverified.
